In 2002 the Johnson County Ambulance District was established to provide high-quality prehospital emergency medical care to the residents of Johnson County, Missouri. The residents approved a property tax levy to form the district in order to provide fast efficient medical care.
The ambulance district staffs at least five ambulances 24 hours a day as well as a 12 hour ambulance. The district operates out of five facilities located at:

Staffing includes 46 full-time employees and around 20 part-time employees. The district averages over 9,800 responses per year, 6,000 transports per year, and provides ambulance service to more than 830 square miles of Johnson County. In addition to ambulance responses, Johnson County Ambulance District operates a Training & Education Center providing EMS certification courses (EMR, EMT, & Paramedic) as well as CPR, AED, BLS, and EMS CEU programs. We also provide ambulances to stand by at public events throughout the community.
