Course Description

The EMS 40-Hour Instructor Course is an entry-level educational program designed to provide EMS professionals with the foundational knowledge and instructional skills required to transition from field provider to classroom educator.

This course is based on the 2002 National Guidelines for Educating EMS Instructors, a collaborative standard developed by NHTSA, the National Association of EMS Educators (NAEMSE), and other federal health agencies.

  • Student Evaluation: Written exam construction, item analysis, and psychomotor skill evaluation
  • Legal and Ethical Issues: Responsibilities and ethical considerations in EMS education
