The Johnson County Ambulance District would like to extend an offer for our Paramedic Program starting July 9/10, 2026. We are offering a convenient shift-based schedule. Classes are offered both Thursday and Friday each week. Both classes are identical and hopefully fit most schedules. Classes begin each day at 0830 and end at 1700 both days. The days will be split into lectures during the mornings and skills in the afternoon.

We will be offering a program that is not just preparing the student to pass the NREMT exam but to be job-ready and understand the dynamic changes that are occurring in the EMS world, including critical care thinking, community paramedic, telemedicine, among others.

The cost of the program will be $8800.00, which includes:

  • Uniform polo
  • Drug Screen/ Background check
  • AAOS Caroline in the Streets Book Vol 1 and Vol 2
  • Fisdap tracking and scheduling, and testing

By registering for this program, you will be required to pay a $500.00 deposit at the time of registration that is non-refundable, and pay at least $2000.00 before the first day of class for self-pay students.  Payments from eligible funding sources including department pay, state or federal grants and VA funding are not required to pay the $2000 by the start of the program.  For self-pay students, if payment is not paid in full before the start of the course, a payment plan can be entered into with a finance charge. All payments with the payment plan are typically due within 8 months of starting the medic program.

Paramedic programs can be stressful and require a large amount of time and energy to complete the requirements of the course. Please take this in to account before registering for our course. We will endeavor to prepare the student with modern teaching techniques and experts in their field to provide insight into their specialty. This will involve 256 hours of lecture, 130 lab hours, 408 clinical hours in the hospital setting, and 408 hours in the pre-hospital setting.
